Kunos released version 0.4 of their rally simulator this week, introducing a couple new cars and features. But more significantly, a partnership with the FIA was announced, making Assetto Corsa Rally the official international rally esports platform, and this update introduces events related to the first qualification phase of that series.
The new cars are two legends from the nineties : the Subaru Impreza S3 Group A that made Colin McRae famous, and the Peugeot 306 Maxi, the front wheel drive screamer which took down the 4WD WRC cars on tarmac.

The update also features some physics update, following feedback from Jon Armstrong, WRC rally driver for M-Sport, who has also partnered with the game for technical support. The tyre, suspension and aerodynamic models have been tweaked to bring a "more natural feel" when reaching grip limits, with the experience being described as smoother and more predictable.
Force feedback has also seen some adjustments, mainly with the integration of Logitech's TrueForce and Fanatec FullForce. While the lateral loads and grip loss effects aren't really changing, this will help users get more road effects and such.
Finally, to put all these things to the test, dynamic snow is now available on the Alsace and Wales rally stages - a perfect opportunity to check your settings !
