For the first time in the F1 games history, Electronic Arts elected to cover a new season by releasing a DLC instead of selling a new game - an interesting choice justified by the decision to take more time to build an entirely new base for the 2027 game.
The release date for the 2026 has now officially been announced for June 3rd. The pack will include new 2026 cars - although some of them will be included in later updates - with the new roster of drivers, the Audi and Cadillac teams and the Madring, Spain's capital new track. Strangely, you will not be able to drive the track with the 2025 cars, a limitation that feels unnecessary.
Another restriction that feels hard to understand is that players won't be able to run the 2026 career with the AXGP or Konnersport teams from the movie and story mode. The 2026 career itself will have to run on a separate save file as well, which writes out any possibility of direct progression between seasons.
The pricing for the Season Pack is 24.99€ for PC and 29.99€ for consoles. If you don't own F1 25 at all, a new edition of the game including the 2026 DLC will be sold for 49.99€ for the PC version, and 59.99€ for the console variant.
At this point in time, we still have no details on how the new energy deployment rules will be integrated into the game - especially as they just got updated in real life - but EA will be releasing a video with more details about the DLC next week.
