Race Clutch Tips - Don't burn yourself

Progressing as a simracer implies a lot of practice and driving. You simply cannot apply your acquired knowledge and build muscle memory without accumulating laps. However, your physical and mental condition are equally important, and neglecting them can make intense practice counter-productive.

As with any sport, good sleeping habits and a good diet are important to keep your reflexes sharp and your energy reserves sufficient, especially for longer races. But even with that, there is still the risk of overworking yourself and acquiring bad habits that would then take a lot of time to deconstruct.

That's why breaks are important. You don't really need to do multiple tyre stints at once without interruption, and sometimes, a few days or even weeks of rest, away from the rig, can help. The human brain actually imprints on new things mainly after the fact, when it's resting.

Finally, an experienced coach can help optimize your sessions by analyzing your driving, identifying priorities and pointing you in the right direction. Even a single session can save you a lot of time and trouble in creating an efficient long term training program, so don't hesitate to book a session with one of our coaches !
