After releasing an Aston Martin rim and new accessories such as a clutch add-on, a load-cell handbrake and a hybrid shifter, Revosim made an announcement that might shake the simracing hardware space : Nacon's hardware brand is bringing not only it's 10 Nm RS Pure ecosystem to consoles, but is also expanding its direct drive wheelbase lineup with more affordable options.
The RS Initiale will sit below the RS Pure, with 6 Nm, while entry level will be covered by the RS Lite with 3.2 Nm of torque. More than just being a competitor to the Moza R3, the console compatibility of this base threatens the comfortable position Logitech and Thrustmaster currently have for the low budget console racing market, dominated by dated gears and belts technology, while the Initiale may be an interesting alternative to the Thrustmaster T598 and the Fanatec CSL GT DD.
This will however be conditionned by pricing, which remains undisclosed at the moment, though bundles are confirmed for all 3 bases. If we look at the current PC version of the RS Pure bundle priced at 700€, and considering the cost of the Playstation chip, Revosim might be able to position themselves favorably in the market.
Only time will tell, but this is definitely something to keep your eyes on if you're planning to purchase your first simracing setup in the upcoming months.
