SimRacing Expo 2026 - Sim-Lab

SimRacing Expo 2026 - Sim-Lab

Sim-Lab brought a couple steering wheels and a production-ready version of their incredibly powerful wheelbase, the 39 Nm DDS.

The DDS base now feels like a finished product, as all the problems found on a previous prototype have now been adressed. The details and settings are good, especially with their new software, which brings a new technology in the market : it allows you to fine tune how the wheelbase and the simulation software communicate together. That amounts to an overwhelming number of layers and possibilities for your average simracer, but this could be  a game changer for professional racers and teams. The base also features a powered USB passthrough, adding extra convenience.

The other attraction on the booth was a new Porsche 963 replica steering wheel. Just like their AMG replica, it is very much geared towards realism, with really firm buttons and rotaries, which can feel exaggerated on a simulator, but that's the whole point here. Sim-Lab's rendition of the 963 wheel is on point and of great quality. Price and release date have not been communicated yet.

Another rim was also presented : the new GTSL, a more dedicated simracing product. Unfortunately, we were not convinced by the proposition there, especially compared to what's already on offer elsewhere. The ergonomy and proportions feel crude, the various buttons and rotaries are a significant downgrade compared to their replicas, and at a 600€ MSRP, we just think it doesn't make a lot of sense against the competition.
